Character Information: wiki link

Personality: Lucretia is deeply loyal to a fault, always looking out for ways to help the people that she loves most. The safety and well-being of her friends and family is very important to her, and whatever actions she takes to ensure that (no matter how extreme) are done solely out of love for them. If they are suffering, she wants to fix it. The narration notes that "moreover, she couldn't handle what the destruction you caused was doing to you" (e66) as Lucretia's reasoning as to why she felt it necessary to wipe the memories of her closest friends: because she couldn't stand to see them in pain as a result of their group's actions. She couldn't handle watching how much it made them hurt, and their sorrow and their suffering spurred her into action.

Outside of this close circle of friends she is a generally well-meaning individual who loathes to see innocent people get caught in harm's way. She is an abjuration specialist, and the magic that she uses is generally both supportive and defensive. She specialises in shields, and would go out of her way to protect somebody who needed help. Unlike most of her crew who resided aboard the Starblaster, she is not quick to kill or even to injure, preferring to talk her way out of tight situations rather than resort to violence.

She belonged to the Institute of Planar Research and Exploration (IPRE for short), and was appointed to be her crew's chronicler for the century-long mission they unknowingly took on. She was chosen for this role because she used to work as a ghost writer prior to this. Several facets of her personality suit this career choice: she is good at observing people from the sidelines, and championing other people's stories. She is quiet, intelligent, and scholarly. She likes to read, to write, and to paint. She dutifully studies the world around her, and records all she can find in one of her many journals.

She is also a very private person, content to keep away with her books and her research. Sometimes her attention can be taken up entirely by any reading or writing she is doing, making her appear uninterested in people who are trying to engage with her. She's able to focus her mind on several things at once; she swears she's paying attention!

Lucretia has a very dry sense of humour, and an almost acerbic wit complete with quick comebacks and humourous one-liners. She used to stay back on the Starblaster alone during missions, but she's been around long enough by now to have grown out of the shyness that was prevalent when she was younger, and has become more comfortable in her skin. Her joking around is from a combination of her friends' senses of humour having rubbed off on her, and her being completely relaxed and at ease around them, unafraid of being truly ridiculous.

She's grown more world-weary too, tired, with a heaping dose of 'I'm getting too old for this shit' sprinkled on top. After losing 20 years of her life to a bet in Wonderland, she finally looks older for the first time in a full century, and she's happy about this. In episode 66, Griffin says of the apocalyptic situation the IPRE collectively face: "Imagine that feeling of loss, imagine that guilt, the pressure it would put on you"; this is how Lucretia has turned out. So not too shaby, all things considered.

But despite her good intentions, Lucretia is prone to stubbornness too. She has a strong sense of what she thinks is right and wrong, and she isn't afraid to latch firmly onto her own ideas and plans. She often becomes blinded by her own decisions, focusing myopically on single solutions, and sticking ardently to her guns even when proven to be in the wrong. It is very hard to get her to change her mind. During her century long mission, she survived a year on a planet by herself after the rest of her crew were killed on day one. Though she was mercilessly hunted, and lived that year in constant fear of being killed also (which would have damned the rest of the multiverse to the whims of the Hunger), she managed to survive it against all odds. This changed her: it gave her more confidence in her abilities, more agency, more courage. She became fierce, and decisive. And if she had survived a year alone and fixed everything along the way, why couldn't she do it all again if needed? All she had to do was prove it to herself that it was possible, and she more than did during her cycle alone.

This can sometimes become the cause of her own downfall. And Lucretia knows all about that: she is intensely self-sacrificing, and of the mind that she must shoulder the mistakes of both her and her friends in order to fix what goes wrong. She doesn't bat an eyelash at putting herself through personal pain, if it will secure the outcome that she is looking for. Sometimes she acts as if she is expendable; obviously, this is hurtful to the people that care about her. She's also prone to self-isolation, as she's become used to being more or less by herself for long periods of time.

As of her current time period, Lucretia has just cast her shield of faith around the Hunger in order to seal it away, keeping it from harming the rest of the multiverse once and for all. She doesn't know it yet, but pulling this particular spell off (one that should have been impossible to cast, according to Jeffandrew (don't ask)) has confirmed her as one of the most powerful people in Faerun. Good things are coming for Lucretia, despite the blows that her close personal relationships with her friends have taken now that everybody is inoculated, and knows of her betrayal.
