(She grins and gives Lucretia a swift kiss.)

(Lucretia looks absurdly pleased with herself; she gives Beverly's hand a little squeeze.)

I'll see if I can get Taako to bring me some things so I can stay here tonight.

Are... is he talking to you again then?

[scholiast]

Nope. (SHRUG.)

But he won't begrudge me a small kindness.

[dancingmd]

(Her hopeful expression falls away. Poor Lucretia.)

That's something at least... I hope you can work it out eventually.

[scholiast]

(Lucretia nods, but she isn't looking at Beverly, and her vague smile doesn't reach her eyes.)

Okay, uh, I'm going to go do that– you should try to get some rest.

[dancingmd]

(She holds Lucretia's hand a little tighter.)

Please stay, just a little longer. It... will be easier to go to sleep if you're here.

(She's more freaked out than she wants to admit to right now.)

(Aw. Her expression softens, and she gives Beverly's hand a reassuring squeeze.)

Of course. It's okay if I keep sitting on the bed?

(She nods and even scoots over to give Lucretia more room.)

Tell me about your day. What were you working on?

[scholiast]

Oh.

(Weird that she was just in her office an hour ago, because it feels like a lot has happened since then.)

Nothing exciting, just helping out with some editing. I actually like doing it, so I get asked to look over reports sometimes.

[dancingmd]

Hmm want to edit some of mine too?

(She's teasing, of course.)

[scholiast]

I knew you were only dating me for the editing perks!

[dancingmd]

Well.

Not only.

[scholiast]

I'm glad to hear it.

(She grins.)

In all seriousness: I will edit things for you if you'd like.

[dancingmd]

I'm afraid that's not an option most of the time. (She yawns. The day is catching up to her.) Patient confidentiality and all that.

[scholiast]

Right, right.

(She taps her nose.

Beverly looks tired, and Lucretia looks at her fondly for a moment, before she glances over her shoulder toward the door and light switch, using mage hand to dim the lights.)

[dancingmd]

Mmm, setting the mood now, are we?

[scholiast]

For you to sleep, yes.

(She's grinning though.) You comfy?

[dancingmd]

You're no fun.

(But she dutifully lays her head back and snuggles under the covers, trying to get as comfortable as she can, given her arm.)

[scholiast]

I know.

(Her poor arm; Lucretia gives the covers a consoling pat.) Good night.

[dancingmd]

'Night.

(She doesn't let go of Lucretia's hand, even as she finally drifts off to sleep. Probably wouldn't have been able to at all, to be honest, if it weren't for the medication - but Lucretia's presence is a comfort as well.)
