tho you should be forewarned shadow (the littlest cat you've probably seen poking his head out the curtains) has taken to trying to climb up people's legs when they're at the table
not really sure what's going on there
but it makes things interesting.

have you ever had tamales tho?
i made them for taako once i should whip up a huge batch and just give them to people
don't think there's anywhere in town that sells them

I haven't, but I'll give anything somebody makes me for free the ol' college try. That, and I trust any food Taako pre-approves. He has the best taste of all of us.

You could take a batch to the marketplace, see if you can drum up interest.

but the other one is a little standoffish & will just gaze upon you regally from a distance
that's his favorite thing to do

Oh, that's so good; I'm excited to meet them.
Did Taako ever tell you about Puppy Town?
One of the uh cycles that we went to, it was just *full* of puppies. Magnus just about lost his mind. That cycle was pretty great.

(This is such a happy conversation. She probably looks real dumb right now, grinning at her phone in public.) Could always do both.

[ Maybe if it wasn't one of the ones that got destroyed, once Cisco learned to breach he could visit there. But there's no way to ask if it had gotten gobbled up by the Hunger without throwing the conversation right into the sadness bin, so Cisco avoids that. ]

so are you more of a cat person or more of a dog person?

i think cooking's less fun if you don't know the person you're making stuff for
it's the same with tech too?
it's way more fun making little gadgets for taako or eddie or whoever than the stuff i invent for work
i mean don't get me wrong i LOVE my job
it's just a job you know?

Yeah.
I mean, it was a bit useless because they didn't... it was just a planet full of puppies and nobody to talk to? And sometimes they barked all at once and that was awful. But Magnus didn't think so, and he had a nice time.

(She smiles, fond and soft in memory.)

Can I assume that you're a cat person considering you own two?

Yeah, that makes sense.
You get to make it personal that way, tailor everything to suit whomever you're making it for. I do that when I'm painting or writing for people that I know.

Uh, sort of tried but I think you can maybe imagine what it's like to *try* cooking when you share a living space with two of the planar system's greatest chefs. (The answer is: not great.)

i just enjoy their company.

Not having to be directly responsible for it, I mean.

(Lucretia wouldn't know the first thing about being responsible for a cat. They seem very aloof.)

had a bunch of plants in my apartment
you know little succulents and all, the kind that are hard to accidentally kill
