(She can hear the discomfort but isn't sure what she did to put it there. Perhaps he's just upset because he is close to Cisco, and doesn't want to think about having to leave that behind some day. That's fair.)

[There's silence again, slightly rougher breathing and the sound of rustling as Taako scrubs a hand over his face.]

This one's not on you, we already- I mean, I cleared that one up. [Which makes Zero Sense without context, but Taako is following his own line of thought and moves on quickly] You should talk to her about it, make sure you're on the same page, you know?

(She doesn't understand that little throwaway comment, which sucks because she can tell he's already moved on and– well, unless he's high again and contacting her a second time, she's not going to be able to ask him about it any time soon. Sigh.)

Yeah, I know. It's not that we're avoiding it, just– (she shrugs, but she's grinning, only because she knows he can't see it,) enjoying each other's company too much to have sat down and talked about it yet, that's all.

[Most of the time, Taako is able to quickly compartmentalize any negative emotions and get on with things, and that's even easier when his thoughts are as loose as they are.]

(She's being sarcastic because Taako knows how she feels about Rin. Which is confused, mostly, because he's started being quite sincere with her recently, but perhaps as a joke?? Lucretia is on high alert.)

[He knows how she felt about Rin, sure, but there's something frustrating about the sarcasm, about the fact she clearly doesn't trust his judgement, and his mood sours.]

[Maybe if Lucretia had spent as much time with Rin as Taako had, he might take her opinion more seriously, but he just feels like she made a snap judgement that she won't back down from.]
