(She's actually so excited about this Lup you have no idea. She's been wanting to show off her work for a while now.)

Alright! It's still a work in progress, but the time I'm finished I should have a small compendium about the different types of magics performed here.

[Oh, she can imagine - and frankly she loves to see her nerds all excited about their work. It's all worth sitting still and listening to.]

That's pretty dope. There's gotta be so much.

I know. Isn't it great?

I've nearly finished surveying my coworkers... and I'm teaching somebody how to use magic and taking notes on that, too.

[umbrastaff]

Oh my gosh, you have your very own apprentice? That's adorable!

[scholiast]

Um, yes!

(He's over two thousand years old.)

As of just the other day, he now knows prestidigitation.

[umbrastaff]

Really? That's pretty impressive, Lucretia. I always wondered if magic worked similarly in other worlds, and if that means the people here can learn.

[She taps her chin a bit.]

... there are two brothers here that do some strange version of transmutation that they don't even consider to be magic.

[scholiast]

I thought about exploring that too, but that might be a side project all of its own.

(Maybe that will go on the to-do list. Who knows.)

... Huh. Have you spoken to them about it?

[umbrastaff]

It could be a pretty fun one, honestly.

[Of course Lucretia has a to-do list. Lup barely even has a work schedule other than 'bother the boss/Taako'.]

Yeah, we had a chat and one of them is gonna make me a chair with his transmutation to show me how it works. I want to bring Taako too, since it's his thing.

[scholiast]

I know... I'm kind of into it. But Lup, I have so much to do already!

(She can't take on another thing! This is too many things. She also wants to ask to come along, but maybe this is a sibling thing??)

Could you take pictures for me? With your phone?

[umbrastaff]

If anyone can keep up with it, it's you!

[It wasn't exactly a sibling thing, but who knows how easy the future is gonna be right now.]

Definitely! I'm getting really good with the camera, now. I can even record shit for you!

[scholiast]

Aw, shucks. (She grins.) Well, it's going on my list, so. I'll probably be elbow deep in it the next time I see you, knowing my track record.

The camera is great, right? (She finds hers on the bed and pulls up the gallery, showing Lup the selfies Taako had sent her.)

We've been abusing it, mostly, but I'm going to see if I can take pictures of people casting magic.

[umbrastaff]

Don't pop a vein or something, okay? You gotta chill with me at night, I'll do your nails and we'll watch one of those movie things so you're all rested for all this work.

[She nods enthusiastically, though.]

I love it! [She flips through the pictures with a grin, having seen most of them already but enjoying their interaction. It was cute.]

I'm mostly taking pictures of outfits but yeah, using it to capture pictures of magic would be rad as fuck.

[scholiast]

So we'll stay up late hanging out and that will have me well rested for work the next day? (She's teasing, though, because all of that sounds like good fun.)

Yeah, I hope it works. Then I could give my report some illustration. (Gods, speaking of. Lucretia hasn't painted anything in weeks.)

Hey– have you been around the shops, much? You haven't seen any with art supplies, have you?

[umbrastaff]

Yep! Sleep is for the weak [Or humans.], it's that stress thign you gotta kill.

[Smiling at Lucretia, Lup imagines her journals all filled with these photos, and it's really sweet. She should show her the Polaroid thing one day, and Lucretia could just tape pictures in her book.

The question about an art shop makes Lup beam, though, and she flops over a bit in the bed.]

Oh yeah! They had some store with a paint brush on it, I bet they have art supplies. Gonna brighten up your office?

[scholiast]

I know you don't need to do it at all if you don't wish, but unfortunately I have to get at least eight hours in or else I become cranky. You know this.

(They all know how bad overtired Lucretia can get.)

No, my office is fine as is– I just want to get back into the habit. Besides, there are some amazing views around here... I'd love to paint the river, for example.

[umbrastaff]

Ugh, true. Nobody deserves Tired Lucretia.

[Not that Lup was the most morning-happy person after her trance or naps.

She beams at hearing her friend's idea, though.]

Oh, I'd love to see that. You should check out the aquarium, too. They have jellyfish like Fisher there, only less shiny and smart.

I don't even deserve Tired Lucretia.

(She winks.)

There's an aquarium here? (Well, consider her sold.) This place is so full of stuff, Lup. I could wander for days and only see half of it.

[umbrastaff]

There is! It's amazing, isn't it? I saw the zoo, too. Well, some of it before I was too drunk and just tried to talk to a bird for the rest of the evening.

[She shakes her head.]

(She's making a mental note to go check out the zoo as well... maybe she can get in some good sketch time there.)

(She will never understand these two and their drinking habits.) You making friends, then?

Yeah, I've met some pretty cool people. Mostly Taako's friends, though.

Maybe you should come and meet some of my friends some time. They're cooler than Taako's friends.

Oh, definitely! In both regards.

[scholiast]

I love that I said 'some of my friends' as if I don't only have two friends.

(She makes a face.) Not including you both, of course.
