(Lucretia lets all her breath out with a big huff until her shoulders slump.)

It's gonna take a while, though. Four months, give or take.

Cripes. (I mean, in comparison four months probably doesn't feel like a long amount of time to Lup but Lucretia still wants to help.)

[She's so, so used to waiting by now, but this place was kind of outside the cycles and was a little harder to enjoy as an incorporeal lich.]

[It's going to be shitty and dysphoric and all that stuff, but it's temporary, just like this is temporary. Because she has the best family.]

[She sees the gesture and there's a warmth in her chest as she conjures that stupid mage hand that she's been doing everything with lately, and lets it grasp Lucretia's.]

(She grins, and clasps the mage hand in place of holding Lup. They'll all make it through this, she knows they will. She has all the faith in the world in them.)

So how many awful pranks have you got lined up before the four month lich body grace period is up?

[She beams at Lucretia. Damn, the other woman knows her so well.]

(Lucretia's expression softens, and she grins, sheepish.)

Thank you Lup. I'm pretty stupidly happy too. (Emphasis on the stupid because presumably an opportunity to leave will present itself to either of them and Lucretia knows she would take it without hesitation, even if it means leaving Beverly behind, and vice versa. But that's also something she Isn't Thinking About right now sooooooo)

Are you happy, Lup? Being here, I mean?

[She makes a little pleased sound at her affirmation, and Lup is grinning at Lucretia. Her best friend deserved so much happiness, and man... it had been ages since she had a date, right?

Then Lucretia asks if Lup is happy here, and she looks thoughtful.]

I think so? I like the place and I like the people, but it feels like another cycle? I mean... it feels a little like the others died and we're having a good time exploring this place until we have to go.

[She shrugs.]

...or maybe that's just because I miss Barry. Especially now with the memories I just got. He was always there even after he died the last twenty-ish cycles, and I think I got a little spoiled not having to wait.

[Lup groans.]

(Lucretia smiles, so fond of her. There's a wee touch of sadness there too: she misses Barry badly, but that can't compare to how Lup must miss him. She's sad that the two of them have to be apart in this way.)
